Movement is one of our fundamental needs, although we often think of it primarily in practical terms: as a way of getting from one place to another, staying fit or releasing tension. This time, we invite you to see it differently: as an experience that can become the starting point for creative activity.
We will set off on a walk around Kępa Mieszczańska, using GPS-enabled smartphones and apps that record our routes. Our movements will be digitally recorded and then transformed into images traced across a map of the city – maps, drawings or abstract compositions.
Each route can leave a different trace. Everything depends on the path we choose, our pace, the way we move and how attentively we engage with what we encounter along the way.
The workshop will offer an opportunity to discover how everyday movement can be not only a means of getting around, but also a tool for attentively exploring the city, our own bodies and our relationship with our surroundings. We will look at how technology records our actions, but also at how the routes we choose reveal our individual rhythms, habits and ways of using space.
The workshop is open not only to people living in Kępa, but also to anyone who enjoys walking, is curious about the city, would like to spend time creatively or simply wants to try something new. No artistic experience or specialist knowledge is required – all you need is a phone, comfortable shoes and a willingness to discover Kępa Mieszczańska together from a different perspective.
„Kępa Mieszczańska. From Needs to Culture” is a series of neighborhood meetings and workshops organized by 66P, which connect art with the everyday experiences of Kępa’s residents. The starting point is universal needs – such as being noticed, rest, exercise, and a sense of security – around which artistic activities, walks, and workshops are built. The project encourages a more thoughtful look at one’s neighborhood, relationships, and local community, without pressure and without the need for prior art experience.

Biography
Tomasz Dobiszewski is a visual artist working across photography, video, animation, installation, and site-specific projects. He teaches at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. His practice combines a conceptual approach with sensory and intuitive experience. He experiments with different media, exploring their less obvious properties and limits of use. He focuses on visualising phenomena that escape perception, developing imagination and visual thinking. His works examine how images and technology affect our perception of reality. He is interested in moments when visual systems reveal their limitations, errors and uncertainties. Using photography, video and data, he reveals the hidden structures of vision, creating situations in which perception becomes a negotiation between the visible and the invisible.
