KĘPA MIESZCZAŃSKA. FROM NEEDS TO CULTURE.
New educational cycle

Join us for a workshop bringing together somatic practice, bodywork and art. This is an invitation to creatively explore the inner resources that offer us solace.

Today, Kępa Mieszczańska is an oasis of tranquillity. For centuries, however, its identity was military in nature – from barracks and drill grounds to wartime destruction. 66P’s home – Piekarnia Żywa Kultura, the Living Culture Bakery – perfectly exemplifies this transformation: once a garrison bakery that fed the army, it now nourishes the arts. This multi-layered history of the island will serve as a starting point for examining the need for safety from an entirely new perspective.

The workshop will offer an opportunity to deepen our connection with the body and the senses, find inspiration and get to know ourselves better. Observing what is present within us, we will learn to draw on our inner calm and carry this experience into everyday life. Through movement and somatic practices, visualisation and inspiration drawn from nature, we will explore the “places of memory” inscribed in the body – our sense of grounding and rootedness.

During the session, we will focus on cultivating bodily presence and learning the language of our inner selves. The proposed activities are designed to deepen sensation, strengthen bodily awareness and uncover the creative potential that lies dormant inside us. In this way, we will open up space for deeper connections – both with ourselves and with the world around us.

The workshop will be conducted in an atmosphere of openness to diversity, ensuring that every participant feels completely safe. It is open to everyone, and no previous experience of movement or bodywork is required.

„Kępa Mieszczańska. From Needs to Culture” is a series of neighborhood meetings and workshops organized by 66P, which connect art with the everyday experiences of Kępa’s residents. The starting point is universal needs – such as being noticed, rest, exercise, and a sense of security – around which artistic activities, walks, and workshops are built. The project encourages a more thoughtful look at one’s neighborhood, relationships, and local community, without pressure and without the need for prior art experience.
