Piotr Blajerski’s exhibition “Wandering Among Other Realizations of Life” is a speculative vision of building a community free from speciesism. The artist looks at the processes that shape biological life, recording that which usually goes unnoticed. He films and photographs the animals encountered on his path, looking at their existence and death. He establishes a specific kind of relationship, stepping into the role of a sentient witness who shares his personal experience of crossing the horizon of vision and empathy.
After the End, Without a Beginning. Jacek Zachodny
In his project, Jacek Zachodny refers to the acute sense of the end of the world as we have known it and the experience of an era in which “old myths are collapsing, new ones are yet to emerge.” He uses a fictional setting to show the real effects of the human lifestyle. The exhibition can be seen as a dystopian museum of the more or less distant collapse of civilisation, or as a symptom of our questioning of “adaptive optimism” – the belief in an almost limitless capacity of the human species to adapt, which was prevalent until recently. All the stories I have ever told you were fiction. Kuba Stępień
The exhibition features the multimedia work All the stories I have ever told you were fiction by Kuba Stępień. The film takes the viewers into a dreamlike world of gestures and non-verbal narration produced by performers united in semi-impromptu movement. The six interweaving scenes of the video performance create a hypnotic collage of fiction, imagination and desire, constructed from images of bodies, collective movement and intimacy, challenging the standards of normative communication and binary orders. Please join us for the opening on Thursday, 20.07.23 at 6 p.m.!

Arm and Protect. Ala Savashevich
Arm and Protect is an exhibition about the exploitation and reclaiming of the body by persons forced into women’s social roles. In the intergenerational memory of women’s capacity to confront the burden of patriarchy, exploitation and violence, Ala Savashevich brings out the mighty power and will to live. She experienced it through performative, embodied work, in which she transformed a traumatic story into a herstory of female solidarity, self-defence and struggle. Please join us for the opening on Thursday, 16.11.23 at 6 p.m.!
20th WRO Biennale 2023 exhibition at PIEKARNIA (66P + the Geppart gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław)
The leading trend of this year’s WRO Biennale is a conversation between humans and machines, or rather – a world shared with robots, machines and bots, which are learning us at an incredible pace, but also imposing new behaviors on us.
